Feature: L.A. Comic Con 2025

Posted on October 6, 2025November 17, 2025 By studiochat

This year was Studio Chat’s first visit to L.A. Comic Con, and it truly was an immersive, expansive experience! Amazing costumes, fantastic celebrity and artist guests, passionate fans, vibrant vendors, a plethora of panels – something for everyone, no matter where you look.

One of the main highlights of the weekend took place when David Tennant and Billie Piper made an entrance on the Main Stage to the screams of adoring fans, who were delighted to hear from the Tenth Doctor and Rose about their Doctor Who days together, and other highlights of their careers, on a panel hosted by Tiffany Babb:

Jessica Jones herself made an appearance, as Krysten Ritter was the highly-anticipated star of a Main Stage panel hosted by Joe Deckelmeier, where the two discussed stepping back into the role of Jessica, and more, in a fun and witty conversation. See a few highlights that Studio Chat captured:

The Scream panel featured Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, and Jamie Kennedy, discussing the horror classic soon approaching its 30th Anniversary, but also touching on topics like Five Nights at Freddy’s, and more. Studio Chat caught some highlights of the panel, which was highly interactive, comedic, and everything you’d expect from this beloved trio and more:

Sounds of Fear featured the lineup of Composers and Musicians: Nomi Abadi, Andrew Scott Bell, Matt Glass, Holly Amber Church, Rob Reider, Anna Drubich, and Sean Keller. Hosted by Anastasia Washington, the panel discussed their favorite approaches to film music, unusual instruments and techniques they’ve used, and what horror film they might rescore if given the chance. It was a fascinating conversation for musicians, music lovers, and film buffs. Check out the footage here:

Horror Hall featured the Haunted Carwash, CarnEvil of Souls, Museum of Monsters scare encounters, and a photo op with Pennywise, alongside a walkthrough maze. Artists’ Alley seemed to go on for miles, with an endless display of talent on a variety of artwork to look at, plus opportunities to meet the artists themselves. Akiba Station held the spotlight on Anime and Japanese pop culture, including appearances from the cast of One Piece, autographs and photo ops with original and dub voice actors from a variety of Anime, video games, and cartoons, and an interactive claw machine and gachapon zone.

Check out Studio Chat’s walkthrough video, featuring plenty of highlights from the convention, here:

Fangoria kept the horror energy present in the air, with A Discussion with Contemporary Horror Comic Creators, featuring David Ian and Rebekah McKendry, Patrick Horvath, Shannon Eric Denton, Brea Grant, and Kris Longo.

Power Rangers: The Past, Present, and Future of the Franchise was a panel hosted by “The Con Guy”, Noah Gildermaster, featuring Christopher Khaymen Lee, Patrick David, and Davi Santos chatting about the parts they’ve played in the enduring franchise.

Jason Clevering hosted a panel called Rebuilding Twilight – Major Franchise Announcement and Movie Trailer Premier, which presented a new Twilight-based immersive project centered around the restoration of the Swan House in St. Helens, Oregon. Clevering was joined on the panel by his mother, Bonnie Clevering, a five-decade Hollywood Hair Designer whose memoir, Continuity by Bonnie Clevering: Life Beyond the Credits, was recently released via Punctuate Press. You can see the teaser trailer for Rebuilding Twilight shown at L.A. Comic Con on the Punctuate Media website here: https://www.punctuatemedia.com/rebuilding-twilight.

Saturday morning kicked off with a sneak peek at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art on the Main Stage, in a conversation hosted by Jessica Alba, featuring Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller, and Kadir Nelson discussing the power and importance of narrative art. The Lucas Museum is set for a 2026 opening, co-founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, becoming the world’s first institution dedicated to the exploration of narrative art and visual storytelling across the ages. The below image is a rendering of the future Lucas Museum of Narrative Art:

Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar Games and the creative force behind Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and more, made a rare appearance to discuss his latest project, Absurd Ventures. IGN Senior Executive Editor Ryan McCaffrey hosted the panel, which you can watch in full via IGN here: https://www.ign.com/videos/ign-in-conversation-with-dan-houser-at-la-comic-con-2025.

The weekend was rounded out by a countless number of Main Stage panels, including the stars of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Spotlights on Bryce Dallas Howard, Mike Colter, Freema Agyeman, the casts of Daredevil and WandaVision, Starship Troopers, and so much more. While the Main Stage drew the large crowds, there were plenty of fascinating panels happening all throughout the halls, on varied topics of comics, film music, cosplay, D&D, film festival-style screenings, plus theme parks, including a spotlight on Universal Studios Hollywood (who also had a featured booth in the main hall) and some inside secrets behind the screams and thrills of Halloween Horror Nights and the upcoming Fast & Furious coaster. Fan creativity could be found left and right, with fascinating new costumes and cosplay around every corner. One unexpected moment was locking eyes with this fellow on the escalators:

A fun event not to be missed. We’re already keeping our eyes out for announcements from L.A. Comic Con 2026!
